Neil McRuer, National Director
With over 25 years in the insurance industry, Neil is a leader in interpreting the unique and changing exposures of the Health Care and Life Science industries. Neil gained an understanding of both sides of the business as Senior Vice President for the Health Care and Life Sciences Practice at a national broker and Hospital Risk Services Manager at a leading Canadian hospital insurer. Neil has championed product innovations and placement strategies for domestic and global client insurance programs and underwritten complex medical malpractice risks in concert with Lloyd’s and other markets. He was the founder and CEO of MedThree Insurance Group and its ownership group broaden its MGA ownership with the acquisition of Southwestern Insurance Group in 2018. Neil left the industry in 2020 to start a regenerative agriculture business with his son and maintains investments in other insurance related entities.
Myra Capinpin, Senior Underwriter
Myra has enjoyed a career spanning over 35+ years in the insurance industry in both the United States and Canada. She has worked for various insurers in technical rating and as an underwriter for property and casualty lines. Myra’s experience in broking and underwriting has helped her to develop a strong understanding of the insurance marketplace and build relationships across various markets. She also developed a deep underwriting expertise in Medical Malpractice and General Liability for a broad range of health care risks such as senior care homes, clinics and health care affiliate programs. Prior to joining TCIM, Myra was an Assistant Vice President at an international broker, servicing Multinational clients across all industry segments including Health Care and Life Sciences. She holds a Chartered Insurance Professional designation.
Eugene Wangyal, Senior Underwriter
Eugene has been actively engaged in the insurance industry for 16+ years. He started as Underwriter Assistant at LIU, P&C Underwriter at Zurich Insurance and Team Lead at MedThree Insurance Group Inc. Eugene has over six years of underwriting experience in the health care sector specializing in senior care space across Canada (complex niche market). He has pivotal role in analyzing and correcting the senior care book (property & liability) with robust multi-thronged underwriting approach. Eugene completed his CIP designation (Chartered Insurance Professional) and one of the three CRM (Canadian Risk Management) courses.
